  • I am making this donation to combine my passion for sport and making a positive impact on society by supporting Sports Legacy Program. Running had such a positive impact on me after losing my mother and both my husbands parents within 3 months of one another. Facing such sadness running gave me hope improved my mental health & a reason to get up. I hope my donation will provide help and more people will have the opportunity to participate in sports helping them achieve their dreams whilst developing their physical mental & emotional health. I would be honoured to contribute to their success with my donation. (GREAT BRITAIN & N.I. (GBR))

And I think I can support this origination through this program because sport can bring socially, courage, hope and dreams back together. (AUSTRALIA (AUS))
  • I was born in North Sulawesi, the area is similar to Japan in which so many weak geological structures that can cause disaster to people when implemented as tsunami, major earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc. I have put my self as one of the possible victims of the disasters and i will be grateful if other people could pray for us and give a good hand while we are in trouble. That's why, as long as I have the capability to help to relieve and support for the Disaster-Affected of the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, i will participate. (INDONESIA (INA))
  • I had open heart surgery as a teenager. I was lucky to have my dad with me in the hospital. I want to run for a charity that helps families during difficult times. I also want to show people they can overcome difficulties in their lives. I am the current Guinness World Record Holder for the Fastest Marathon with an Artificial Heart Valve. I hope my story will inspire others. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • Peace Winds Japan appealed to me to run for because of its multi-faceted mission. Not only are you rescuing at risk dogs, but you're training them to then be of service to others whose lives are in danger. Dogs are such a special part of this world, they bring so much joy to our everyday lives. I want to support a group dedicated to saving these wonderful animals. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I am a passionate runner, and at the same time, I enjoy and feel very grateful when I am able to run for a higher cause. This really motivates me a lot and is like a win-win type of emotional situation. Running for a charity cause also makes me keep it up when the hard moments of the training takes places in a way that inspires me to go the extra mile without giving up. Finally, running for a cause like protecting children from hazardous child labor, has been an area I had and continue to have a deep interest in helping and supporting. Unlocking opportunities for children with education as a way to help them raise out of poverty is something that I am passionate about. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • Watching the horrific scenes in Ukraine and Palestine unfold over the past few years has been truly heartbreaking. The work that organizations like UNHCR does reminds refugees that there are still people who care about them and have their best interests at heart. With a record amount of refugees around the world today, it's crucially important to raise both funds and awareness to support the work that UNHCR is doing. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • Running has changed my life. There is nothing that makes me feel more alive, powerful, independent, and free than lacing up my training shoes and heading out my door. My mental health, self esteem, and confidence has been built on a foundation of miles. I would love the opportunity to share this gift with women around the world. Every mother, woman, and girl deserves the chance to realize their best selves. As a teacher and mother of three, it would mean so much to me to run for a cause that truly celebrates women and their access to education and equality. I hope every step I would take at the Tokyo marathon could represent one step toward equity for my sisters around the world. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I am a thyroid cancer survivor myself, therefore cancer is a very dear topic to my heart. Able to run for a great cause under Gold Ribbon is a dream comes true. While running my heart out in the marathon, I also able to contribute to the scholarships as well as the treatment expenses to those who needs them. This is very meaningful to me as a cancer survivor and marathoner. (MALAYSIA (MAS))
  • I am passionate about supporting the fight against human trafficking in India and child abuse in Japan because I believe every child deserves a happy and safe childhood. These issues rob children of their innocence and potential, and it is our collective responsibility to protect them. Participating in this charity allows me to raise awareness and contribute to meaningful change, ensuring a brighter future for all children. (HONG KONG, CHINA (HKG))
  • Running on behalf of Special Olympics Nippon for the 2025 Tokyo Marathon is a cause close to my heart. I have friends and family with disabilities, and I actively support them in living full, active lives. The Special Olympics empowers athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting inclusion, dignity, and community. By participating, I aim to raise awareness and support for these incredible athletes, highlighting their perseverance and strength. Running in Tokyo, a city known for its vibrant culture and support for diversity, further inspires me to contribute to a cause that celebrates the human spirit and fosters a world of acceptance and equality. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I am planning to run the TOKYO Marathon next March 2nd 2025. Could not run last time because my mother in law passed away that week. I decided to run it and raise money again for the Room To Read Foundation. It envisions a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world.
After being a Professor at Georgetown University for over 36 years, the idea of promoting education as a source of everything is the right thing to do. I am SUPER excited about finally running Tokyo since it is the last one I need to complete the 6 Abbott World Marathon Majors. I am proud to represent Room to Read. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I believe every kid should be given the opportunity to develop and bring out the best of his or her talents. It is unfortunate that those underprivileged kids cannot reach their potential simply because of poverty. It is even saddened that they are trapped in the unending poverty cycle and have no way out. I believe those who have more resources should be proactive and support those underprivileged kids. (HONG KONG, CHINA (HKG))
  • I was lucky to win a lottery when I ran Tokyo Marathon for the first time in 2023. I had a wonderful experience and fell in Love with the city and country. Now, I want to give back to the Japanese society through donating to Japan Cancer Society charity. (KAZAKHSTAN (KAZ))
  • As a professional registered nurse, it is important for me to run and represent an organization that is geared towards helping children and families. Most of my nursing career is in maternal child health so this organization aligns with my passion; providing families with the basics during a time of crisis and trauma is very important. No family should have to worry about housing when they are in the fight for their child's life due to a critical illness. Let us lessen the burden for these families and provide them with the support and resources they deserve. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • Seeing para athletes out having fun or participating in events along with their coaches and mentors gives me a happy heart. Helping to educate people through the promotion of publicity will continue to create better understanding. Supporting inclusivity fosters a stronger community and opens up other opportunities for these athletes. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I was raised by a teacher. My husband was raised by a teacher. Our mothers taught us that education is everything, as it serves as the foundation of growth. Participating in Teach for Japan resonates with my passion for education and my belief in its transformative power. Every child, regardless of their background, should have access to inspiring teachers and have quality learning experiences within their own schools. Contributing to Teach for Japan's mission aligns with my values of social justice and community development because inspiring teachers cultivate inspiring and motivated leaders who will shape the next generation in Japan. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I was born and raised in Ukraine, and it deeply pains me to see the ongoing devastation since the war started 2 years ago. My family still lives in Ukraine and their safety and well-being are constantly on my mind. The thought of them and countless others enduring such hardship fuels my determination to help in any way I can. Through my participation as a charity runner, I hope to contribute to continuation of life-saving assistance and support that CARE international Japan provides in Ukraine. Every step I take as charity runner will be a step toward bringing hope and relief to those affected. I am passionately committed to making a difference. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I ran the Tokyo Marathon in 2024 also with Water Aid. I feel a very strong connection with this charity because I am from Nigeria, west Africa. I have seen intense poverty and the tragic causes of illnesses due to a lack of clean water. I will always support Water Aid because of all of its incredible works. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • A friend recommended I apply to run with Solaputi, as they participated last year and had an amazing experience. As someone who attended camp as a child and worked at a camp for young children while growing up, I feel very passionate about the impact a summer camp program can have on children by providing them with outdoor experiences and friendships they would not typically have the chance to partake in. Some of my favorite memories from my childhood are of my experiences playing, swimming and doing arts and crafts at camp. I love that this camp is focused on providing children who may be facing daily challenges with their health, a safe space to be a kid and focus on having fun. Thank you! (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • It is heartbreaking that there are still so many children in this world without adequate care. My son, as child needed several medical procedures and required hospital stays. We were fortunate to have good medical care. As a parent, I want to help insure that no parent has to watch helplessly as their child suffers from illness. We must help the littlest and most vulnerable among us. It would be an honor to run for this charity! (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I am a retired teacher and it would be an honor to run in support of an organization that works to support children and provide them with opportunities for education. I have already been donating to this organization in order to help their mission. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I have been running for charities since 2016. While I love running, I really enjoy raising awareness and funds for organizations that are near to my heart and that I believe in. In that way the run itself means more than just the individual effort, it creates a way to help others. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • Good evening, after careful review of the many charity options I found that yours is truly close to my heart, as a father of an autistic 13 year old daughter one of my worst fears is the isolation she may feel because of the way society treats those with a disability. I believe protecting youth who sre socially isolated has great value, I am glad to have found your charity and hope to represent your cause while running my fifth marathon major. Traveling from Puerto Rico is no easy task, but knowing that it will make a difference would make it much easier.

    Best regards

    Carlos (PUERTO RICO (PUR))
  • I love the mission and commitment of JEEF to developing people to enable them to positivity impact society and the environment and would very much like to represent your organisation at Tokyo Marathon. Making a difference through educating others to make a difference is a massive pull for me. Through education not only are we helping the current environment we are also enabling future generations to actively create a positive society able to look after the future environment they live in. JEEF is providing opportunities to those that may not otherwise be able to to make a difference. (GREAT BRITAIN & N.I. (GBR))
  • I lace up my shoes to run with NPO Florence because their mission resonates deeply with my immigrant journey. When I arrived in the USA, the culture shock was overwhelming, but my family's unwavering love carried us through. Witnessing the struggles of others, Florence's dedication to supporting every family touches my heart. My run isn't just about personal achievement; it symbolizes hope for an inclusive society where every individual is valued and accepted. With each stride, I'm fueled by the dream of a world where all families, regardless of their backgrounds, can experience genuine happiness and a true sense of belonging. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I'm choosing ADRA because of its mission statement and the type of work it does around the world. I would be very pleased to see my donation used in a way that honors God and helps people live as He intended. Tokyo will be the sixth star for me and that will make it a very special marathon. It would be an honor to run for ADRA in Tokyo. (CANADA (CAN))
  • The three years living in Bangladesh during my childhood has shaped me into the physician I am today. When I saw the poor children at the market who looked unwell, or the children on their mothers' backs while they worked breaking up the bricks with hammers under the shade of umbrellas in the hot sun, I promised that I would become a doctor when I grow up and help children like them. My entire career has been about helping women, children, and the people who are marginalized. Today, I may not yet be able to go help the children in Bangladesh and Nepal in person, I am very excited to learn about SHAPLA NEER through the Tokyo Marathon and thus combine my love of running and my desire to help. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I would like to run for JOICFP because I have been directly impacted by cervical cancer, recently losing my friend to the disease in May 2024 at just 35 years old. I noticed that cervical cancer was your current focus as well as reducing maternal deaths. I want to help raise awareness of cervical cancer and ensure that young women know their rights, go for their smear tests and advocate for their own health and sexual health. My friend Ali also dreamt of visiting Japan, so running for this charity feels like a fitting tribute in her honour. (GREAT BRITAIN & N.I. (GBR))
  • I am an ICU nurse at a hospital in Colorado and I work directly with bone marrow transplant patients on a daily basis. I personally witness the stress, fear and other impacts that leukemia has on these people and their loved ones. Bone marrow transplants have saved so many lives and have given so many of my patients and their families a reason to celebrate their remission from leukemia and other blood cancers. I wish for every leukemia patient to have a chance at overcoming their cancer and I would be honored to help support an organization who is spreading awareness of the shortage in bone marrow donor registrants so that more lives can be saved! (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • As a music teacher and digital learning developer, I am passionate about ensuring equal educational opportunities for all children, especially in the arts. I wholeheartedly support the mission of Chance for Children to provide access to extracurricular activities for every child. It would be an honour to participate in the Tokyo Marathon on behalf of CFC to ensure that more children enjoy the opportunities that helped shape my own childhood and career path. (GREAT BRITAIN & N.I. (GBR))
  • With each of my pregnancies - I am a mother of two boys - I endured horrible postpartum depression and anxiety. The U.S. healthcare system offers little to no support for new mothers, thus I was left to struggle alone. This was such a dark period in my life - one that even made me question whether a second child was possible. Eventually I was able to access some private help (very expensive in the U.S.), but I was lucky. I know many other new mothers are not. If my donation to MadreBonita can help even one woman have a better postpartum experience, then I will have made a big difference. Please consider my passion for this charity and consider including me as part of your 2025 team! (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • I was born in Zimbabwe and my sister contracted polio as a child due to the fact that she was not vaccinated. She became paralyzed and could not do so many activities due to this limitation. She died in her thirties and I always wonder what would have happened if she had gotten the vaccine. i have seen so many families devastated by the effects of not affording the much needed vaccines. I do not want this to happen to any child. Vaccines save lives. We are here in this world because of vaccines. nobody should be limited to achieve their maximum potential because they can't afford vaccines. Your mission statement resonates with me. (UNITED STATES (USA))
  • My name is Patrick from London and I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 20 years this year.
I have already run the London Marathon for JDRF, another diabetes charity. As someone with diabetes will know, everyday is a battle with the condition but running is a brilliant way to manage my blood glucose levels and I love to travel to the world raising money and awareness of Diabetes. I run to prove that a diabetic person is just as able physically and even more determined to complete a marathon.
I have been reading about IDDMs research into finding a cure as well as helping parents of newly diagnosed children with T1D which is so inspiring.
My goal is to complete all of the major marathons. (GREAT BRITAIN & N.I. (GBR))
