We would like to request all registered runners of Tokyo Marathon 2020 to defer their entry according to below.

*Same message is delivered via email at 10 a.m. (JST) today to the runners of Tokyo Marathon 2020 who have the right to defer their entry.

1) Which Event to Defer

Runners subject for entry deferral can defer their entry to either the "Tokyo Marathon 2021" or the "Tokyo Marathon 2022".

The deferral selection shall be made between 10 a.m. (JST) on January 8, 2021 and 5 p.m. (JST) on January 20, 2021 through My Entry page.
*Note, selection can only be made through My Entry page.

-Tokyo Marathon 2021 Sunday, October 17, 2021 (provisional)
-Tokyo Marathon 2022 Sunday, March 6, 2022 (provisional)

Important Notes:
*If the selection is not made by the deadline, the entry will automatically be deferred to the Tokyo Marathon 2022.
*Selected choice cannot be changed once the process is complete.
*To update the system for the next event, the My Entry page will be temporarily unavailable following January 21, 2021. For record, we would like to request all runners to keep the email that they receive upon completion of the entry deferral until the new system is established (note, scheduled system update is different for 2021 and 2022 event.). Runners can manage their entry through My Entry, but during the times when it is unavailable, the Entry Desk will be available for any inquiries.

2) Entry Category

The category of the entry will be the same as the 2020 event.
The registered information from the 2020 event will automatically transfer to the chosen event and runners do not have to make a new entry.
Entry category can be viewed through "Status" on My Entry page.
*Note, Charity Runners do not have to make additional donations.
*RUN as ONE - Tokyo Marathon "Semi Elite" do not have to submit additional proof of record.

3) Countermeasure against COVID-19 (coronavirus)

Depending on the situation surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus), certain requirements and cooperation from participating runners may be mandated. Detailed information will be outlined within each event information, and regulations and rules defined by the event organizer may be enforced.

4) Entry Fee

Payment of the entry fee will be requested following June 2021.
*Entry will be officially recognized with the completion of the payment.

We will announce further details as soon as it is officially decided.

5) Other Important Notice

Changes or updates of the registered information can be made through the My Entry page until January 20, 2021. Changes following January 21, 2021, please directly contact the Entry Desk.
