The Tokyo Marathon 2020 will be held today as scheduled, only for the marathon elites and the wheelchair elites.
As preventive safety measures in response to the spread of infectious diseases, the Tokyo Marathon 2020 has canceled the mass race, and be held for the elites and wheelchair elites only.
We have downsized the event by reducing the number of volunteers and cancelling the spectator stands. Also we provide surgical masks and alcohol-based hand sanitizers for the event staffs and people involved in the event to ensure safety.
Addition to your safety, we would like to request to avoid gathering along the course. The event will be broadcasted through television and radio, and we look forward to your support through TV and radio.
After the race start (9:05 am onwards), you can follow the real-time leaderboards and lap times of top elite runners by checking the following "Leaderboards" page
