<Message to the Tokyo Marathon 2021 Registered Runners> Safety precautions in attending the event

2022/2/18

The COVID-19 infection rate within Tokyo is slowly decreasing. However, pressure on healthcare services is expected to continue to surround race day (March 6), and there is a concern that transfer to medical facilities may take time when medical transport is called for illness or injury during the event.

To protect yourself while minimizing the pressure on healthcare services, we request all participants to carefully monitor their health before and during the event. Keep safety in mind, and come to race day fully prepared for any weather.

Running a marathon can add great stress to the body. To runners of all ages, persons with underlying health conditions, and for anyone who feels unsure of their physical condition, we request that you consider withdrawing from the event to protect your safety.
