Series XIII of the Abbott World Marathon Majors began at the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon and will conclude at the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon*.

The marathon racing calendar has been interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has created an 11-race series for our elite open division and the elite wheelchair division to earn points.

The top two performances of the elite athletes and the five best scoring events for the elite wheelchair athletes will count in their quest to finish at the top of the leaderboard.

Four events have taken place so far - the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon, 2019 TCS New York City Marathon, Tokyo Marathon 2020 and the 2020 Virgin Money London Marathon - and the series will resume at the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.

Series XIV will move to a calendar year cycle, kicking off at the Tokyo Marathon 2022 and ending at the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon.
