Competition Rules

  1. 1) The races will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the World Athletics, JAAF and the Race Organizer.
    World Athletics Road Race Label Regulations also applies to the Tokyo Marathon, which has been certified by the World Athletics as a Elite Platinum Label.
    Doping control will be conducted abiding to World Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.
  2. 2) World Para Athletics Rules and Regulations and the competition rules of the Tokyo Marathon applies to the wheelchair marathon.
    Doping control is conducted under World Para Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.

Cut-off Times & Start Times

Cut-off Times:
1) Marathon:
Marathon: 7 hours (9:10 a.m. - 4:10 p.m.) *The time limit will be based on the starting gun of the first wave.
Wheelchair: 2 hours and 10 minutes (9:05 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.)
2) 10.7km Race:
10.7km Race: 1 hour and 45 minutes (9:25 a.m. - 11:10 a.m.) *The time limit will be based on the starting gun of the second wave.
Wheelchair: 40 minutes (9:05 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.)

* Runners who fail to pass through the checkpoint before the cut-off time will be removed from the race.
 Furthermore, runners who lag excessively behind the cut-off time pace may be stopped to leave the course at anytime.

Eligibility

Those who fulfill the following conditions, and whose participation is approved by the organizer (including those who deferred their entry to the 2023 event):

  1. 1) Marathon: Over 19 years of age on the day of the event (Field size: 37,500)
    1. 1-1) General participants
      • - Runners who are capable of completing the race within 6 hours and 30 minutes.
      • * Includes runners from "RUN as ONE-Tokyo Marathon 2023 (general)".
      • * Runners with disabilities who find it difficult to run without support should run with a guide runner (guide/support animals are not allowed).
    2. 1-2) Semi-Elite (Japan)
      • - Athletes who meet the criteria set forth in the RUN as ONE - Tokyo Marathon 2023 "Semi-Elite" program.
      • * Runners with disabilities who find it difficult to run without support should run with a guide runner (guide/support animals are not allowed).
    3. 1-3)Semi-Elite (Overseas)
      • - Athletes who meet the criteria set forth in the RUN as ONE - Tokyo Marathon 2023 "Semi-Elite (Overseas)" program.
      • * Runners with disabilities who find it difficult to run without support should run with a guide runner (guide/support animals are not allowed).
    4. 1-4) Elite ※Applications will commence in December.
      • - Athletes, registered with the JAAF in fiscal 2022 who satisfy the special requirements set forth by the JAAF.
      • - Invited Athletes: domestic and international runners nominated by the organizer and/or the JAAF.
    5. 1-4) Wheelchair (General participants)
      • - Participants capable of completing the race within 2 hours and 10 minutes using a racing wheelchair.
      • - Participant who has proof of disabilities.
      • * Racing wheelchair requirements are specified in the latest "Rules and Regulations" set forth by the World Para Athletics.
    6. 1-5) Wheelchair Elite ※Applications will commence in December.
      • - Athletes who have the following record in the tournament of the World Para Athletics certified races while registered with the JPA in 2022,and anticipated registration with IPC in 2022 who have T53 or T54 class of World Para Athletics Classification and has Class Status R or C with time record of:
         1 hour and 50 minutes or under (Men).
         2 hours or under (Women).
      • - Invited Athletes:National and international athletes nominated by the organizer and/or JPA.
  2. 2) 10.7km Race: Over 19 years of age on the day of the event (Field size: 500)
    1. 2-1) Junior & Youth
      - Runners between 16 to 18 years of age on the race day (runners born between March 6, 2004 and March 5, 2007 are eligible).
      - Runners who can complete the course within 1 hours and 45 minutes.
      • * Age restrictions do not apply to entrants who have deferred their entry to this event.
      • * Including those runners who are selected separately by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government under the projects related to the Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery support.
    2. 2-2) Visually Impaired
      - Runner who can complete the course within 1 hour and 45 minutes.
      - Runner who has proof of disabilities.
      * Runner who find it difficult to run without support is allowed to run with a guide runner. (*Guide/support animals are not allowed.)
    3. 2-3) Intellectually Challenged
      - Runner who can complete the course within 1 hour and 45 minutes.
      - Runner who has proof of disabilities.
      * Runner who find it difficult to run without support is allowed to run with a guide runner. (*Guide/support animals are not allowed.)
    4. 2-4) Transplant Recipients
      - Runner who can complete the course within 1 hour and 45 minutes.
      - Runner who has proof of disabilities or medical certificate, etc. to prove to be a transplant recipients.
      * Limited to those who have received an organ transplant or bone marrow transplant.
    5. 2-5) Wheelchair users
      - Participant who can complete the race within 40 minutes using a racing wheelchair.
      - Participant who has proof of disabilities.
      * Racing wheelchair requirements are specified in the latest "Rules and Regulations" set forth by the World Para Athletics.

* Entry, Covid testing, event fee refund insurance, handling and tax included.
* * As part of the COVID-19 countermeasures, pre-race testing is planned to be conducted. However, if the testing doesn't take place due to any changes in countermeasures planned in accordance with the laws on infectious diseases, the event fee will be partially refunded.
* Payment only available by credit card or by a specified online financial service.
* All finishers will receive a finisher robe and a finisher medal.

  1. 1) How to Apply:

    • 2-1) ONE TOKYO Premium Member Entry
      - From 11:00 a.m. on August 1 until 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022 (JST).
      - Eligible only for ONE TOKYO Premium Member, and will be chosen by random drawing once the entry exceeds the field size (1,000).
    • 2-2) Tokyo Resident Entry
      - From 11:00 a.m. on August 15 until 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2022 (JST).
      - If the entry exceeds the field size of the Tokyo Resident (500), the selection will be made by random drawing within that pool.
      * ONE TOKYO Premium Member who is a Tokyo resident will automatically be enrolled in the drawing pool of the Tokyo Residency Entry.
    • 2-3) General Entry
      - From 11:00 a.m. on August 29 until 5:00 p.m. on September 9, 2022 (JST).
      - Selection will be based on random drawing once the entry exceeds the field size.
      * This includes ONE TOKYO Premium Member entries and Tokyo Resident entries.
    • 2-4) Charity Runners
      - Those who have applied to donate more than the amount specified by the respective charity organizations and wish to run as a Charity Runner.(Field Size: 4,000)
      - Application Period: From 10:00 a.m. on July 11 until 11:59 p.m. on July 24, 2022 (JST).
      * Application period for those residing outside of Japan opens from 10:00 a.m. on July 15 and closes on July 24, 2022, 11:59 p.m. (JST). (Updated as of July 8, 2022)
      * Those who have applied to be a Charity Runner cannot register through any other entry categories.
      - Entry Registration Period: From 11:00 a.m. on August 8 until 5:00 p.m. on August 19, 2022 (JST).
    • 2-5) RUN as ONE - Tokyo Marathon 2023 (Semi-Elite)
      - From 11:00 a.m. on August 1 until 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022 (JST).
      - Those who achieve the qualifying times can enter through this category.
  3. 3) Selection of applicants:
    - Once the entry exceeds the field size, the entry will be chosen by random drawing (ONE TOKYO Premium Member Entry, Tokyo Resident Entry, and the General Entry).
    - The selection result will be announced through "My Entry"*.
  4. 4) Payment:
    All entrants, including the Tokyo Marathon deferred entry, must pay the event fee and other required amount before the deadline.
    The entry will be void if payment is not received by the deadline.
    * Payment only available by credit card or by a specified online financial service.
    * Receipt will not be issued; should you require a receipt of the payment, please refer to the belonging credit card company.
  5. 5) Other:
    - Separate application and pre-race testing will be necessary for a guide runner.

Prize

For both the marathon, and wheelchair marathon races, the prize money accordingly to the results will be awarded in accordance with separate rules.

  1. 1) Event Cancellation Guideline
    • 1-1. The event is subject to cancellation if a cancellation request is received from respective authorities and agencies.
    • 1-2. The event is subject to cancel due to natural disaster or in a situation in which delivering a safe event is difficult.

Event Regulations

The regulations with which the Tokyo Marathon 2023 applicants and participating runners must comply are established in the Event Regulations.

  • 1. This event will be carried out while abiding to all domestic laws and regulations.
  • 2. In addition to the Event Regulations, the event will adhere to the all other rules and regulations set forth by the event organizer.
  • 3. Except in the event of intentional or gross negligence, the organizer shall not be held in any way responsible for any of the following.
    • (1) Illness, communicable disease (including COVID-19) and/or accidents (excluding emergency treatment).
    • (2) Loss and/or damage of personal property.
    • (3) Late arrival to the race due to trouble with public transportation and/or poor road conditions.
  • 4. In order to execute safe event, the event organizer will enforce traffic control in the vicinity of the event.
  • 5. Runners are required to follow the instructions of the event organizer. Otherwise, will be disqualified from the participation in the event.
  • 6. The course is certified by the JAAF, AIMS and World Athletics. We will not accept any claims against the course measurement or the distance based on personal devices, such as, GPS tracking device. Also, you may be disqualified for missing timing mat record and/or if short-cut is discovered.
  • 7. Depending on external condition and influence, the timing may be affected. Note that there may be missing records due to environmental influence, and they are by no means 100% guaranteed that they will record all times.
  • 8. Copyright of images, photographs, articles, race records, location information, coverage of the event, and the usage right for TV broadcasting, newspapers, magazines and the Internet, belongs to the event organizer. Aforementioned copyright includes but not limited to names and other personal information such as age and address (country, prefecture and city only) of entrants mentioned in the article covering the event.
  • 9. The event organizer, in recognition of the importance of protecting personal data, abides to all laws and ordinances concerning the protection of personal data, and adheres to the event organizer's privacy policy when handling personal data.
  • 10. The event organizer will provide adequate first aid to injury and illness during the race event. In certain cases, the event organizer will provide medical expenses following the event.
  • 11. The event organizer will provide professional medical attention to any injury, illness or accidents and in necessary cases will transfer the patient to the nearest hospital. Medical examination will be done by medical personnel and the information will be shared to the event organizer. Please note, in case of emergency, life rescue is prioritized and the opposite sex may execute the operation (usage of AED, chest compression, etc.).

Race Regulations

The event organizer will not permit the participation in the event who is in violation of the event regulations, laws/regulations, or public order and morals, as well as the prohibitions specified in the following examples 1 through 12.
If any of these are applicable to the participant, the event organizer will not allow the participant to join the race or prevent the participant from continuing the race, even after the start of the event. Any objection against its judgement will not be accepted.

  • 1. Dressed in clothing or wearing a gear that may be dangerous, hurtful or cause other runners to fall; and/or running with the whole part of the face covered.
  • 2. Dressed inappropriately for a sports event or in clothing that is unpleasant to other participants or spectators.
  • 3. Clothing for the purpose of political or religious assertions or propaganda, as well as advertising.
  • 4. Clothing for the purpose of promoting or advertising an individual name, a specific region or an organization that the event organizer does not acknowledge.
  • 5. Use of articles that could cause other participants to mistakenly recognize as a starting signal and cause confusion to the race management, or use of a devices with strong sound volume that may disturb others.
  • 6. Acts that causes a delay to the start of the event, such as, dancing, performance, playing instruments, standing near the start or finish lines, or in the streets along the course.
  • 7. Soliciting monetary contributions, signatures, etc.
  • 8. Preventing pedestrians from crossing the course or obstructing the passage of emergency vehicles at certain points, when and where they are allowed to do so.
  • 9. Obstructing the race by failing to follow the instructions by the race officials and referees.
  • 10. Bringing a guide runner not approved by the event organizer. Also, guide/support animal is not allowed.
  • 11. Changing clothes in undesignated locations and/or urinating or defecating at places other than toilet facilities.
  • 12. Occurrence of affair other than those listed in numbers 1 through 11 that the event organizer determine inappropriate for the event.

COVID-19 Regulations

This regulation was created in the interest of preventing the spread of COVID-19 at the Tokyo Marathon 2023. Please make sure to read and agree to all terms before making an entry.
Furthermore, the COVID-19 Regulations are subject to change depending on the situation surrounding COVID-19 and guidance/regulations for events set forth by the Government of Japan and/or Tokyo city. In the case of modification (s), updates will be announced separately.

  • 1. Preventive Measure Against COVID-19 and Precautionary Changes
    • 1-1. Please participate by understanding the risk factors of COVID-19, such as, risk of getting severely ill increases with age and for those who have underlying health conditions. Also note, possibility of transmission from asymptomatic carriers has been reported.
    • 1-2. It is recommended that three doses of COVID-19 vaccine are inoculated in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, reduce the number of fatalities and hospitalizations to the greatest extent possible, and thereby preventing the spread of COVID-19.
    • 1-3. Runners participating in the event are to take good care of their health before the event and thoroughly implement COVID-19 countermeasures.
    • 1-4. Please cooperate with the organizer's COVID-19 countermeasures. Details will be provided in the Runner Handbook.
    • 1-5. The organizer will initiate all possible measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to deliver a safe and secure event, but if a case of infection is reported, the organizer will not be held accountable.
      Note, the organizer will have a insurance cover for accident and illness for the race day only, and the insurance does not cover communicable disease (COVID-19, etc.).
    • 1-6. All participants are required to download a health-management app specified by the event organizer on their personal smartphone, and participate in the daily health assessment utilizing the application. Therefore, a smartphone will be necessary in order to participate in the event. Note, depending on the health assessment, an individual may be requested to withdraw from the event.
      Also, participants will be recommended to download and install the Contact Confirming App "COCOA" created by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (Japan).
      * As of July 1, 2022, the health-management app supports Apple iPhone iOS 11.0 or above and Android OS 10.0 or above. Please note that some functions may not operate as intended or may not be installable with older versions.
      * Withdrawal from the event due to ill health is not subject to refund.
      It is also recommended that participants use the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA).
    • 1-7. All participants will be asked to perform a test specified by the organizer to check for the possibility of COVID-19 infection (provisional). Testing details will be announced separately.
    • 1-8. Entry will be revoked if entry requirements are not met, nor if protocols pertaining to COVID-19 are not followed. For details, please refer to the below regulations (2. Entry Terms, Refund and Deferral).
  • 2. Entry Terms, Refund and Deferral
    • 2-1. Participation in the event will not be allowed or may be requested to withdraw from the event if any of the following applies to the participant. The refund of event fees will be as follows. *The handling fees will be deducted from the refund amount.
    • 2-2. Entry deferral will be available only for withdrawals due to the reasons specified by the organizer, and the entry will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
    • 2-3. Event fee is the only fee subject for refund, and any other fee (travel fair, accommodation, etc.) shall not be the responsibility of the event organizer.
    • ■ Reasons subject to a Refund
    • ① A participant will be removed from the event if COVID-19 infection is detected following February 15, 2023. A refund shall be made if valid proof of infection is submitted.
      However, this shall not apply if the participant receives a permission from health authorities to conduct a packet pick-up and to participate in the event.
    • ② If COVID-19 testing conducted by the event organizer results in a positive result, participation in the event will be denied.
    • ③ Resides in country/area that is denied of entering or landing in Japan set forth by the Ministry of Justice (Japan) following February 6, 2023.
    • ④ Body temperature will be checked at packet pick-up and on race day, and if it is higher than what specified by the event organizer (37.5 °C), participation in the event will be denied.
    • *Refunds will not be available for the following cases:
    • ・If the participant fails to perform/register daily health-assessment utilizing the specified app, and/or refuse to show the app when asked to do so, the entry right will be revoked.
    • ・Anyone failing to comply with the organizer's COVID-19 countermeasures will be stripped of their right to participate in the event.
    • ・If false information in any form and/or invalid consent is discovered, the entry right will be revoked. Also, legal action will be taken if damage or loss occurs to the event organizer due to the provided false information.
  • 3. Mandatory Conduct From February 26, 2023 until the End of the Event
    • 3-1. Pre-Event: from February 26, 2023
      • 3-1.1. Daily health assessment from February 26, 2023 will be required utilizing a specified health-management app.
      • 3-1.2. The specified health-management app will also be used to identify the individual.
      • 3-1.3. In order to utilize the app, smartphone will be necessary.
      • 3-1.4. Body temperature check and data registry into the app will be required daily.
      • 3-1.5. If missing required fields are detected, the participant will receive a reminder email.Participants must not forget to register the data daily.
    • 3-2. From Packet Pick-up (including EXPO) until the Race Day
      • 3-2.1. Packet Pick-up will be held for 3 days between March 2 (Thu) - 4 (Sat), 2023.
      • 3-2.2. Packet Pick-up times will be preassigned within a specific time frame, and reservation will be required. Note, requested times are not guaranteed. (Further information will be announced separately.)
      • 3-2.3. Body temperature check will be conducted at the entry to the Packet Pick-up. If the temperature is above the number specified by the event organizer, the entry will be denied.
      • 3-2.4. At the Packet Pick-up, compliance to the staff instruction will be mandated, along with cooperation of the wearing of the mask, maintaining physical distance and such initiated as countermeasure to prevent the spread of the disease.
      • 3-2.5. At the Packet Pick-up, specified health-management app will be examined.
      • 3-2.6. Participant will be required to present the phone with the installed app.
      • 3-2.7. Pre-race testing will be initiated by the event organizer. Details will be announced as soon as they are decided.
      • 3-2.8. If a testing sample is requested but cannot be provided at packet pick-up, the entry will be canceled and no refund will be provided.
    • 3-3. Race Day
      ◆ From Start Area Entry to the Race Start
      • 3-3.1. At the Entrance Gate, the health-management app and registered photo will be examined.
      • 3-3.2. All participant will be required to bring their phone with the installed app to the Start Area/Entrance Gate.
      • 3-3.3. In the Start Area, body temperature check will be conducted and along, the participant will be required to show the health-assessment app. If the body temperature is above the specified number, the participant will be required to follow further instruction of the event staff.
      • 3-3.4. Changing space/tent will not be provided; participants are expected to arrive to the start area readily prepared.
      • 3-3.5. Clothing cannot be discarded/donated; participants are expected to carry their clothing if they wish to take it off.
      • 3-3.6. Wearing of the mask will be required until the start line, and conversation with other participants shall be kept at minimal.
      • 3-3.7. Wearing of the mask is not mandated on the course, but masks cannot be discarded on the course and participants are expected to carry the mask at all times.
      • 3-3.8. If COVID-19 testing conducted by the event organizer results in a positive result, participation in the event will be denied. Also, proper medical diagnosis will be required, and it shall be the responsibility of the participants.
      ◆ During the Race(Course)
      • 3-3.9. Wearing of the mask at the medical tents and toilet stop is required.
      • 3-3.10. Disposal of waste other than the trash bin provided by the event organizer is prohibited.
      • 3-3.11. Provided items at the aid stations are limited in variation and quantity. Participants are encouraged to bring their own nourishments.
        * Please observe restrictions on what can be brought into the start area. Details will be provided in the Runner Handbook.
      ◆ After the Finish
      • 3-3.12. Wearing of the mask will be required after crossing the finish line; participants are required to wear the mask that they carry.
      • 3-3.13. Amenity will not be hand-handed; participant will be required to pick up the amenity on their own.
      • 3-3.14. Details on distribution of the Six Star Finisher medals will be announced separately.
      • 3-3.15. Change clothes only within a designated space provided by the event organizer. Do not change clothes at any other than a designated space (nearby facilities, train station, etc.).
    • 3-4. Weeks Following the Race Day (until March 12, 2023)
      • 3-4.1. Daily health assessment following 1 week after the event day will be required utilizing the health-management app.
      • 3-4.2. Participants are obliged to report to the event organizer if positive COVID-19 has been detected.
  • 4. Handling of Personal Information
    •  If and national administrative organization has requested to provide personal information (including data in the health-management app and pre-race testing result) with the interest of preventing the spread of COVID-19, the information shall be shared while abiding to applicable laws and ordinance.

Entry Regulations

Applicants who cannot observe the below regulations and all other regulations/rules set forth by the event organizer will be rejected in the entrant selection (or disqualified even after the entry fee payment/race participation), and no refund will be made. Moreover, applicants will never be allowed to participate in our future races.

  • 1. Upon the completion of the entry, the "My Entry" page will be created automatically. Entry status, entry result, event fee payment, and issuance of Runner Handbook and Finisher Certificate will be available on the "My Entry". Note, the "My Entry" page created for this event is scheduled to be deleted in late May 2023.
  • 2. A duplicate application for the race entry by the same applicant is prohibited. Also duplicate entry for the ONE TOKYO Premium Member Entry and the General Entry is not allowed. If duplicate entry is discovered, the entry will be voided and the paid event fee will not be refunded.
  • 3. False name, date of birth, sex, nationality, residing address, and race records are strictly prohibited. Please carefully check your registered information for they are not allowed to be changed or canceled after submission, excluding the items that can be modified on the "My Entry".
  • 4. The organizer will not be held responsible for any late entry due to error caused by certain PCs, browsers, operating systems and/or poor Internet connectivity.
  • 5. Email delivery check for the registered email address will not be conducted. Note, the organizer will not be responsible for any inconvenience or loss due to trouble with the device (malfunction), system/email setting, failure to receive email and/or change in email address.
    ※Please make sure to update your email address through the My Entry in case of address change. Depending on the situation, the My Entry may not be accessible. In that case, please directly contact the entry desk.
  • 6. Entry desk and administration office will not accept any questions regarding entry status and/or entry result. Please refer to the "My Entry" page for your entry result status.
  • 7. Applicants who fail to pay the event fee and other required fee by the designated date will have their entries cancelled automatically, and will not be allowed to participate in the race. Putting the right of entry or the race bib for sale or auction is strictly prohibited. Any participant guilty of breaching this rule will be disqualified, and the event fee (including donation) will not be refunded.
  • 8. Entry through a travel agencies not approved by the event organizer are not allowed. If discovered, the entry will be voided and the event fee (including donation) will not be refunded.
  • 9. Participation by an individual other than the applicant (proxy entrants, transferred rights, etc.) is not permitted. The applicant must complete the Packet Pick-up during the period of the Tokyo Marathon EXPO in person with valid photo ID. Failing to perform Packet Pick-up will result in disqualification from participating in the race (we will not accept registration or Packet Pick-up on the race day). To ensure security and prevent false-entry, please cooperate in photo-registration, ID check and such, if requested by the organizer.
  • 10. Packet Pick-up times will be pre-assigned within a specific time frame. Please note, requested packet pick-up times may not be granted.
    * There will be no registration or packet pick-up on the race day (Sunday, March 5).
  • 11. A baggage check fee will apply starting with Tokyo Marathon 2023.
    The number of baggage that can be checked is limited, so we may not be able to accommodate all requests.
  • 12. Entry Gate, and Starting Corral cannot be requested for change for any reasons, and no exceptions accepted.
  • 13. If the decision is made to cancel the marathon, event fees may be refunded and participants may have their entries deferred, depending on the timing of the decision and the reason for the cancellation. Details are as follows.
    Payment will only be available by the payment processing service specified by the organizer, and handling fees, etc., will be deducted from the refund amount.
    * Please note that an account with the payment processing service will be required. We appreciate your understanding.
    • 13-1. A refund will be issued if the reason for the cancellation of the event is as indicated below.
      • 13-1.1. Cancellation due to snowstorm, flood due to heavy rain, building destruction due to strong wind, lightning strike, tornado, and/or fire along or near the course, causing course blockage.
      • 13-1.2. In addition to 13-1.1. above, cancellation due to a physical phenomenon that would make it impossible to guarantee safe running on the course, resulting in police authorities issuing a request that the event be canceled.
      • 13-1.3. Cancellation due to earthquake within Japan.
      • 13-1.4. Cancellation due to J-ALERT (excluding war/terrorism)
    • 13-2. If the event is canceled for any of the reasons in 13-1. above, refunding and deferred entry will be performed as indicated below.
      • 13-2.1. If the event is canceled by February 5, 2023.
      •  13-2.1.1. 20% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      •  13-2.1.2. Entries will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
      • 13-2.2. If the event is canceled between February 6, 2023, and the starting gun time (9:05 a.m.) on March 5, 2023.
      •  13-2.2.1. 100% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      •  13-2.2.2. Entries will not be deferred.
    • 13-3. If a cancellation request is received from a government agency, or if the event is canceled for a reason not indicated in 13-1. above (including cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the following will apply.
      • 13-3.1. If the event is canceled by February 5, 2023.
      •  13-3.1.1. 20% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      •  13-3.1.2. Entries will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
      • 13-3.2. If the event is canceled between February 6 and February 19, 2023.
      •  13-3.2.1. 10% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      •  13-3.2.2. Entries will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
      • 13-3.3. If the event is canceled between February 20 and February 26, 2023.
      •  13-3.3.1. 5% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      •  13-3.3.2. Entries will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
      • 13-3.4. If the event is canceled between February 27, and the starting gun time (9:05 a.m.) on March 5, 2023.
      •  13-3.4.1. The event fee will not be refunded.
      •  13-3.4.2. Entries will be deferred to Tokyo Marathon 2024 or Tokyo Marathon 2025.
  • 14. Violation of the rules, and withdrawal of the entry at the participants' discretion do not qualify for a refund. There is no entry deferral or special treatment for a future event.
    Excess or duplicate event fee payments will be refunded, minus the handling fee.
